Tim Anderson

OPERATIONS manager

Tim Anderson provides operational support to the Highfield team. Tim is an experienced manager.  He is responsible for the oversight of direct farming operations as well as tenant operational compliance.  He possesses rapport within the farming community and is considered an innovator.

He is an organic agricultural consultant specializing in USDA organic certification. Tim applies expert knowledge, industry experience, and continued oversight to landowner organic certifications.

Tim began his career in the comptroller's office of Maxim Egg Farm (Cal-Maine Foods). Eventually an opportunity arose for Tim to be a partner in a large rice farming operation where he expanded his first-hand experience of production agriculture. Along with rice, he also produced crops of grain sorghum, soybeans and commercial hay.

Tim began farming organic rice in 2006 and developed a working relationship with Gulf Rice Milling where he sold his rice. He was further engaged by the milling group to offer regional farmers the opportunity to grow organic rice, and in doing so, began to assist them with the organic certification process. Tim has consulted with farmers regarding the organic program for over a decade and has expanded to assisting organic row crop farmers with rice, corn, sorghum, cotton, and soybeans.

Tim is also a licensed crop insurance agent specializing in organic crop insurance, pasture, rangeland, and forage policies.  Tim's children produce state champion Black Jersey dairy cattle.

Tim is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics.
